Faculty of Business Public Lecture: Compiling Financial Statements by A Practitioner Lecturer

Batam, 16 September 2023 — Financial statements are essential in the business and industry world. According to Indonesia Statement of Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK) Number 1, financial statements are a structured presentation of an entity's financial position and performance. The purpose is to provide information about the entity's financial position, performance, and cash flow that is useful for most financial statement users in making economic decisions. Furthermore, the financial statements provide evidence of management's accountability for resource allocation.

On 15 September 2023, the Faculty of Business hosted a public lecture on Introduction to Accounting and Taxation. The lecture was delivered by Mrs. Kusmeylinda, S.E., Ak, CA, M.Ak., a practitioner lecturer and consultant in Accounting, Finance, and Taxation. The event was attended by Management and Accounting students. Mereka diharapkan mampu membuat laporan keuangan yang akurat dan terstruktur pada perusahaan jasa.

Mrs Kusmeylinda mentioned basic accounting principles and various financial statements to ensure participants understood the fundamentals. She also encouraged them to create basic financial statements. At the end, the students successfully prepared financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
